A 4-story parking garage was being constructed over a former drainage detention pond.  Tuya Engineering performed pressuremeter testing for the caisson design.  We also evaluated caisson and auger cast piers at several depths to provide the client with cost-effective options for foundation design.  Testing also included consolidation testing to evaluate the settleement of shallow caissons.

Tuya Engineering provided construction monitoring and testing (CMT) services for a national chain of auto supply stores in Hickory Hills, Montgomery, Calumet City, Canton, and Harvard, Illinois, and Hobart and and Highland, Indiana.  CMT services included bearing inspection, proof roll, compaction, concrete and , grout, and mortar inspection and testing and steel inspection.

Tuya Engineering performed oversight of the removal of fill and backfilling with 3-inch crushed concrete for a single-family residence on Lake Michigan. 

Illinois EPA regulations require, in order to obtain approval for disposal of soils from a construction site at a Clean Construction and Demolition Debris (CCDD) facility, soils must be certified as clean by an Illinois Licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist or property owner in accordance with 35 Illinois Administrative Code 1100.  Tuya Engineering performs CCDD testing for residential, commercial, and industrial properties and helps clients navigate soil disposal.

Tuya Engineering performs geotechnical investigations, which may include soil borings and exposing the existing footings, to help the design team and client determine the best foundation support for additions or renovations.
